Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Lorelio mobile application (“App” or “Lorelio”) provided by Lorelio (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, installing, or using Lorelio, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Lorelio, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.
2. Service Description
Lorelio is an autobiography creation app that uses on-device artificial intelligence to help you create a written life story through voice-guided interviews. Key aspects of the service:
- On-device AI: All AI processing — speech recognition, interview question generation, text-to-speech, and prose writing — runs entirely on your device. No content is sent to external servers for processing.
- iCloud required: Lorelio requires an active iCloud account and iCloud Drive enabled on your device. Your autobiography data syncs across your devices through Apple’s CloudKit infrastructure.
- One biography per Apple ID: Each Apple ID supports one autobiography. This ensures your life story remains a coherent, unified narrative.
3. Your Content
You own your content. All autobiography text, voice recordings, transcripts, photos, and other content you create using Lorelio belongs entirely to you. We do not claim any ownership, license, or rights to your content.
Since your content is processed and stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account, we do not have access to it and cannot view, modify, or share it. You are solely responsible for backing up your content.
4. Use of the App
Lorelio is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose — creating and managing your personal autobiography. You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to interfere with the App’s functionality or security
- Use the App to create content on behalf of others without their knowledge or consent
5. On-Device AI
Lorelio uses artificial intelligence models that run entirely on your device, including speech recognition (ASR), a large language model (LLM), and text-to-speech (TTS). The AI generates interview questions and prose based on your spoken input. While we strive for high quality, AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, and you should review and edit your autobiography before sharing or printing it.
The AI is not a substitute for professional writing, editing, counselling, or therapy services.
6. iCloud Sync & Data
Lorelio uses Apple’s CloudKit to sync your data across your devices. This sync is governed by Apple’s iCloud security policies. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. We do not operate sync servers and do not have access to your synced data.
You may use Lorelio on one active device at a time. A second device may view your autobiography in read-only mode until it is designated as the active device.
7. Subscriptions & Purchases
Lorelio offers free and paid tiers. Paid features are available through in-app purchases processed exclusively by Apple’s App Store. Apple is the merchant of record for all transactions. All purchases are subject to Apple’s terms and conditions.
We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID. Subscription pricing, renewal, and cancellation are managed through your Apple ID settings and governed by Apple’s policies. Pricing may vary by region as determined by the App Store.
8. Free Tier
The free tier provides limited functionality as described in the App, including a limited number of interview sessions and photo uploads. We reserve the right to modify the features available in the free tier at any time, though we will not remove access to content you have already created.
9. Intellectual Property
The Lorelio app, including its design, code, AI models, branding, and documentation, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App except your own content.
10. Emotional Content
Creating an autobiography may involve recalling difficult or emotional memories. While Lorelio includes features designed to recognise and respond to emotional distress, it is not a mental health tool or substitute for professional support. If you experience significant distress while using the App, please reach out to a trusted person or mental health professional.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
Lorelio is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. AI-generated content is provided for your personal use and may require editing.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of content, or emotional distress.
Since your data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account, we strongly recommend regular exports of your autobiography as a backup.
13. Termination
You may stop using Lorelio at any time by deleting the App. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your locally stored data remains on your device and in your iCloud account.
